Designed to be installed right in your battery cable. Extra heavy duty. Protects against theft and electrical failures. Install under your hood, seat, on firewall, or at the rear of the car (NHRA/AHRA). Rubber insulator boots cover stud and nut for the extra protection needed to prevent short circuits. Uses 3/4" mounting hole.

Special Battery Disconnect shuts down the alternator when you flip the switch. This is necessary if you want the engine to shut off at the same time (required for NHRA/AHRA safety inspection). The 2 extra terminals are wired into your alternator feed wire from the ignition switch. This circuit turns the power off to the alternator preventing engine run on when the switch is turned off when/if the engine was running. Rubber stud boots included for large terminals. You will not find a more affordable battery disconnect switch than this and for that reason, this is a very popular product. Uses 3/4" mounting hole.
